This week's theme:

5 songs...
I heard on MTV in Italy last year

I spent about slightly more than a week in Italy during my december holidays and I decided to start off with more mainstream songs. Consequently, this site will feature more japanese/VGM/OST songs.

Artist Keane
Title Crystal Ball
Album Under the Iron Sea
Language English
I've always been a Keane fan (I own both their albums) but the second one finally included guitars/bass which the first lacked. Also, Under the Iron Sea sounds more mainstream than their first. Not to mention I've harboured a dislike for Somewhere only we know because of a video project in secondary school. Hearing it on loop for 3 hours straight gets you pretty ticked off I assure you. I like this song, more that their first single Is it any wonder? Was very pleased to finally see the music video on MTV when I was staying in Florence, I don't think I've seen it at home yet.

Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball,
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful,
Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Oh, crystal ball, hear my song,
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong,
So put me where I belong.

Artist Muse
Title Starlight
Album Black Holes and Revelations
Language English
This is the only other Muse song that I like, the other being Sing for Absolution. I absolutely love the music video, the pretty fireworks and all. Apparently the ship they filmed on is owned by one of their Japanese fans whose father is in the shipping industry. I heard the song everywhere when I was in Italy.

Far away
This ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Artist Red Hot Chili Peppers
Title Snow (Hey Oh)
Album Stadium Arcanium
Language English
This song reminds me of the time when I was playing Suikoden V. I only saw the music video when I was in Italy which isn't really much but I just love the song, especially the guitar. But I still find it ridiculous that Dani California is the theme song for Death Note and it's music video is much more entertaining.

Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow

Artist Scissor Sisters
Title Land Of A Thousand Words
Album Ta-Dah
Language English
One of Scissor Sisters slower, more ballad-ish, slow rock ish. Reminds me of the 80s slow rock music. I watched the music video in Italy and I love the concept, as well as the filming. If I remember correctly it was wide-screen with the colouring towards sepia-ish and credits rolling by like a movie in the cinema. The music video is a must watch.

This is the land of a thousand words
But it seems so few are worth the breath to say
Except I'll be looking after my own world
And you just keep on saving the day
I'll try to stay but it's in vain when you're far
I'm on the run to wherever you are

Artist Nelly Furtado
Title All Good Things (feat. Chris Martin)
Album Loose
Language English
I think this song is very pretty, they're something very nostalgic about. I don't like her other songs on Loose very much, I prefer her older works like Try but she's got a very distinct vocals. On another note, featuring Chris Martin? Where? I like it when there someone whistling in the background.

Why do all good things come to an end?
